Founded in 1958 primarily to service the British Phosphate Commissions bulk cargo ship stevedoring operations with
small bulldozers at North Island Ports, the company steadily expanded its civil engineering plant hire fleet to include traxcavators and pioneered hydraulic excavator methods to meet industry demands.
Those items were utilised by major national construction companies and the then Ministry of Works to complete many major Auckland projects in the 1960s and 1970s such as:
- Mangere International Airport
- Initial Motorway Network
- State Housing Developments
